Maple, a leading lending marketplace and technology provider, and Circle Internet Financial (Circle), a global financial technology company and issuer of USDC, are expanding USDC adoption via Circle’s funding of a loan from its corporate treasury to Maple's Secured Lending pool.
Building on a history of successful efforts to innovate in the lending space, including Maple's original pool on Solana, this new lending pool investment aligns with Circle’s ongoing commitment to expand USDC adoption and is expected to grow as funds begin to adopt corporate finance facilities in USDC.
Sidney Powell, CEO and Co-founder of Maple Finance, commented, "Maple has always been driven by the vision of establishing the landscape of institutional on-chain capital markets. This funding marks a pivotal moment in our evolution as we embark on a strategic expansion. Our mission remains clear—to bridge the web3 and traditional lending industries with infrastructure that sets a new standard."
Spencer Spinnell, VP, Americas at Circle, stated, "We are building towards a future in which digital dollars flow as seamlessly around the world as other digital data – enhancing global economic prosperity and financial inclusion. This collaboration with Maple advances our shared goal of bringing a substantial portion of the long tail of capital markets onto decentralized blockchains.”
Both Maple and Circle share a common vision of transforming the financial landscape by enhancing the adoption of the decentralized systems powered by USDC settlement.
