During 2025, Maple grew total value locked (TVL) from $0.5bn to over $4.5bn. That growth marks something larger: the graduation from a lending protocol to a vertically integrated onchain asset management business connecting institutional capital across DeFi, CeFi, fintech, and TradFi.
Sustaining that growth demands more than momentum, it requires the right people. To lead Maple through this next chapter, we're welcoming three new senior hires: Natalie Williams as Head of Marketing, Conor O'Hanlon as General Counsel, and Tarek Court as Head of Trading. Each brings exactly the kind of experience and judgment this stage of growth requires.
"We have built Maple with the ambition to create a category-defining onchain asset management business. Bringing in leaders of Natalie, Conor, and Tarek's calibre strengthens the platform we need to scale responsibly, expand our capabilities, and grow Maple into a business managing tens of billions in capital."
– Sid Powell, CEO and Co-Founder, Maple
Natalie Williams - Head of Marketing
Maple's story has grown more layered as the business has scaled. Telling it well - to new audiences, across new channels, in a market where trust has to be earned - requires someone who has done it before.
Natalie Williams joins as Head of Marketing with 15 years of experience in marketing and comms, having scaled VC- and PE-backed businesses at critical inflexion points. She has built marketing functions and launched markets at fintechs Airwallex and Clearco, worked with early-stage AI companies and government-backed innovation programmes, and has a track record of translating complex, high-stakes strategy into narratives that land.
"Maple sits at the intersection of institutional finance and onchain infrastructure at exactly the moment that story needs to reach a wider audience. The product is institutional-grade, the growth is accelerating, and there's a real opportunity to define the category. I'm here to help tell it."
– Natalie Williams, Head of Marketing
Conor O'Hanlon - General Counsel
As Maple expands into new capital allocation strategies, institutional integrations, and multiple regulatory jurisdictions, in-house legal leadership isn't a nice-to-have, it is foundational.
Conor O'Hanlon joins as General Counsel with more than a decade of experience across regulatory, institutional finance, and digital asset matters. He began his career at Allen & Overy, advising on derivatives and structured finance, before moving into digital assets at Perkins Coie, where he worked on foundational regulatory and licensing matters for major names in the crypto industry. Since then, he has held in-house roles at NYDIG, Block, and Tools for Humanity, building operational depth across digital asset-backed lending, payments, and institutional-grade financial infrastructure. He is admitted to the bar in California and New York, qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales, and holds a non-practising qualification in Ireland.
"Maple is building something genuinely novel at the intersection of onchain finance and institutional capital markets. The legal and regulatory work here is as interesting as it gets, and getting it right matters."
– Conor O'Hanlon, General Counsel
Tarek Court - Head of Trading
Maple's roadmap through 2026 and into 2027 includes expanding allocation capability well beyond institutional lending. That requires someone with the discipline of traditional markets and the perspective of a trader who has been inside crypto through every cycle.
Tarek Court joins as Head of Trading with over a decade of experience spanning proprietary trading, market making, and portfolio management across both traditional and digital asset markets. He began his career trading European equity index futures and oil and gas derivatives, building deep expertise in market microstructure, order flow, and risk management. He moved into digital assets in 2012 and has traded through every major cycle since, giving him a perspective on market structure and risk that very few people in this space can claim.
"I've been in digital asset markets long enough to have seen what breaks and what holds. Maple has the infrastructure and the institutional relationships to do this properly, and that's a rare thing."
– Tarek Court, Head of Trading
What This Means for Maple
These three hires reflect a considered build. Natalie, Conor, and Tarek bring the marketing reach, legal infrastructure, and trading discipline needed to operate confidently across new products, new jurisdictions, and institutional-scale capital.
Together with the wider leadership team, they give Maple the depth to lead the next era of onchain asset management, not just participate in it.
